Nevertheless, from my personal experience, art classes and workshops are as busy as ever. Yes, there is a dramatic shift from the static to the dynamic when personal communication is the purpose. With the passing of time, I think their claim of doom was right and wrong. Their conclusion was computers made traditional methods obsolete and archaic. They looked into the future and fretted over the loss of public interest in and appreciation of paintings, drawings, etchings, etc. ![]() In fact, ten years ago, a major city’s art institute (museum and school) held public lectures bemoaning the impending demise of visual arts as we have defined them for thousands of years. With the digital age in full swing and gifs becoming the preferred method of communication, one might be tempted to claim that two-dimensional, static art is dead. Many of us have forgotten that it is possible how to live beyond our disabilities. Mindsets, attitudes, and perceptions are fluid realities. Many neurotypical people are psychological architects who have constructed enclosures in which they trap themselves. ![]() It is my belief that every person lives with at least one disability - for impairments are not limited to those with chronic illnesses. Without the distraction of physical activities, I have found my passions: (1) Encouraging others to live more fully with fun, faith, and hope (2) finding freedom in oil painting (3) writing about my experiences and (4) encouraging others to live more passionately.
